Forgiveness

I saw this flower in Walmart. Something told me not to ignore it. As I got to the check out, it almost made the cashier cry of how beautiful it was.

A single white rose is in memory of my parents wedding... true I wasn't there, but instead of a bouquet my Mother carried a single white rose. For years that is what my Dad got my Mother a single white rose for their anniversary. One year Mother says to me... "What's with the single white rose? He does it every year."
I look at her flabbergasted. "Mother. You're kidding right?"
She shakes her head. I tell her as if it were the most obvious oversight... "Mother, you carried a single white rose on your wedding day."
"Ohhhhhhh." she says finally getting it.

See, he is a sentimental man.


So this is for them.

Oh it's title is nothing to do with them... well sorta, the title has something to do with me. I was listening to a song called Forgiveness by the Engineers, when I worked on it. In a strange way it does relate to my little story, but on a level of odd understanding: like yearly forgiveness for leaving one's shoes everywhere or crashing the car... okay getting too personal.
